Women are often criticized for their appearance, especially when it comes to their weight. But, when they are in the public eye, the scrutiny is on a much greater level.

Canadian meteorologist Kristi Gordon, for example, has been ridiculed for her baby weight, while news anchor Jennifer Livingston received a letter from a man who called her obese.

And, when you’re as famous as Kelly Clarkson, the berating gets even worse.

Fox News host Chris Wallace and Mike Gallagher, for example, had several offensive things to say about her body during the Mike Gallagher Show.

“That’s the new phrase now. Fat shaming. Have you seen Kelly Clarkson?

You know the singer, Kelly Clarkson? Holy cow, did she blow up,” Gallagher said.

Wallace added: “She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.”

Yet, they aren’t even the first to criticize the multiplatinum American Idol alum for her weight.

“Kelly Clarkson is now a chunky monkey, if we’re putting it kindly,” British journalist Katie Hopkins told Entertainment Tonight. “She does look like she’s eaten her backup singers… That’s not baby weight, that’s carrot cake.”

But Clarkson, who welcomed a baby girl named River Rose Blackstock in June 2014, had a positive response to all those people commenting on her body – and she doesn’t seem bothered by their words. Watch the video below to hear her inspiring thoughts!
