Kelly Clarkson Reflects On Her Year As She Gets Divorced: ‘Sometimes It Feels Like Hope Is Lost’

by Angela Andaloro

Kelly Clarkson has no trouble getting real when it comes to her personal life. As she reflects on the struggles she’s faced in the last year, Kelly took a moment out to express her gratitude as well.

Kelly took to Twitter on Thursday to share her love for all the guests who have appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show this year. “Shout out 2 every single guest I’ve had while taping my show this summer. This year has been challenging, overwhelming &sometimes it feels like hope is lost BUT I have had the honor of meeting some incredible humans doing amazing things & keeping hope alive & I want 2 say THANK YOU,” she wrote.

The 38-year-old singer has dealt with all of the intensity everyone else has faced this year.

In addition, she’s been going through a divorce. Kelly filed for divorce from her husband, Brandon Blackstock. Kelly is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their two kids, 6-year-old daughter River and 4-year-old son Remington. Brandon’s legal team responded last week, also seeking joint legal and physical custody.

As hard as that must be for Kelly, it seems like the couple is keeping things amicable through it all. Kelly won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for her first season of The Kelly Clarkson Show last month. She thanked Brandon, who serves as an executive producer.
