Mel B Fights Back Tears When Burn Victim Dedicates Emotional Performance To Her Mom

by Jess Butler
Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

The America’s Got Talent finals were coming up, which made each performance more important than the last.

It was the week of the semifinals and Kechi Okwuchi knew exactly what was on the line. In 2005, Kechi became a plane crash survivor, who made it out of the wreckage with lifelong scars. After going through so much in her life, winning this competition meant everything to her.

Her mother did everything she could to make sure Kechi felt safe. This time, Kechi wanted her mom to know she would be OK, no matter what. So, she decided to sing a song that said just that.

In the video below, posted on September 12, 2017, Kechi stands at the center of the stage and starts singing “Don’t Worry About Me,” by Frances. Her powerful voice complements the song perfectly, as do her genuine emotions during the performance.

In the end, Kechi let her voice speak for itself during this emotional performance.

As you can see in the video, Mel B can’t keep it together and fights back tears as she watches and listens to Kechi’s message to her mom.

Just imagine how proud Kechi’s mother felt as she beamed from the audience.

So, what do you think of Kechi’s song choice and dedication for this semifinals performance?
