On 30th Wedding Anniversary, Kathie Lee Pays Tearful Tribute To Late Husband Live On Air

Ally is a born-and-bred Jersey Girl who studied English and Journalism at Rutgers University. In her free time, she spends too much money on food, continues the endless search for her next favorite book, and fails to use her gym membership on a daily basis. She comes from a huge, crazy family that sells Fish & Chips for a living and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Most people know Kathie Lee Gifford as a vivacious talk show host who’s graced television screens in some capacity for the past few decades.

From back when she sat by Regis Philbin’s side on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee to her current gig on the fourth hour of Today alongside Hoda Kotb, Gifford has been a welcome presence in many homes each morning.

Gifford can always be trusted to keep it real and say whatever comes to her mind, normally with hilarious results. But over the past year she’s had a more serious topic that she’s sharing with viewers.

The host’s beloved husband Frank passed away suddenly in August 2015, and she has been very open about her grief, but also her gratitude that she was able to share her life with such a wonderful man.

This past Tuesday, on what would have been the couple’s 30th wedding anniversary, Gifford paid tribute to her late husband with a few words.

Though she hadn’t planned to speak on the matter, Gifford was eloquent as always and expressed her thanks for the years they spent together.

She became understandably emotional as she spoke, and so did the rest of the room, including cohost Kotb and their guest, actor Andrew Rannells.

Though she pulled herself together quickly, it’s honest moments like these that make Gifford such a beloved figure.
