Katharine McPhee, 35, and David Foster, 69, are officially married! The happy couple tied the knot in a romantic ceremony at the Church of Saint Yeghiche in South Kensington, London.
Katharine, an actress, singer, and songwriter, rose to fame in 2006 as the runner-up on American Idol. Since then, she’s released a number of albums and appeared in movies and television shows.
David and Katharine were friends for years before they became involved romantically. Despite their age difference, their relationship flourished. David proposed to Katharine in July 2018. Now, they’re husband and wife!
David is Katharine’s second husband — she was previously married to Nick Cokas — and Katharine is David’s fifth wife — he was previously married to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson, and Yolanda Hadid.
There were about 150 guests at David and Katharine’s nuptials, including all of David’s kids.
Just before the wedding, Katharine took to Instagram to share a video of herself singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” She wrote, “Exactly 13 years ago today my very first single, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, was released right after Idol. Today… I’m marrying the man who produced it. Life is full of beautiful coincidences, isn’t it? Thank you for taking me over the rainbow, David.”
After the wedding, Katharine officially changed her name to Katharine Foster. She and her new husband are now celebrating their honeymoon in Italy.
