The royal family has been quite busy these days! With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials on the horizon and Duchess Kate Middleton expecting her third child, there’s plenty afoot.
This past week, Kate Middleton made one of her first public appearances of 2018, stopping by a local elementary school in the UK to mingle and meet the children.
But schoolchildren weren’t the only ones she met! Kate was lucky enough to meet Bear, the school’s special therapy dog.
According to Inside Edition, Bear is only 4 months old, fresh out of training, and “there to calm students suffering from emotional distress.”
The school’s headmaster, Principal Ed Vainker, thought the duchess had a great time visiting the school.
“I think she enjoyed it,” he said. “She met the puppy, which was great. She managed to go past two tables, where there was a lot of painting going on, without getting too painty.”
Well, happy to hear the Duchess escaped before the finger painting went too far!
You can certainly tell that Kate was as comfortable with all the schoolchildren as she would be with her own. Bear’s fluffy presence even seemed to excite her!
