Sounds like Meghan Markle is settling right in!

Sources are reporting that the newly minted duchess, who joined the royal family just two months ago, and Kate Middleton are “closer than ever” in recent weeks.

Reports say that the bond is being forged through the duchesses’ shared love of charity work. Kate has been extremely active with sports and youth mental health programs over the years, and Meghan recently dipped her toes into those waters during a visit to Ireland’s Gaelic Athletic Association event. The duo were also spotted in the stands for the Wimbledon women’s singles final, which Meghan’s friend Serena Williams lost in straight sets.

Kate’s obviously been in the royal charity game much longer than Meghan, but the new Duchess of Sussex “is set to announce her first patronage imminently,” according to a source.

While it appears to be all sunshine and rainbows between the royals, one gloomy spot remains, in the form of Meghan’s father. Thomas Markle recently gave an interview in which he claimed he was being blocked from contacting his daughter; he also said, “I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now. This one isn’t even a stage smile — this is a pained smile.”

Still, Meghan definitely is smiling, and if these reports are true, there’s nothing pained about it.
