Kate Gosselin Is Shamed Online Over Son Missing From Photo Of Her Smiling Sextuplets

by June Rivers
When she's not blogging for the 'net, June loves cuddling with her cats and reading in her library at home.

Fans of Kate Gosselin’s reality show follow the single mom’s journey with her pair of twins and sextuplets.

She gives viewers an extra peek into her personal life on social media, but sometimes that can create more backlash than anticipated.

Recently, Kate shared a photo of her kids dressed up for Halloween. She wanted her 200,000 followers to see their cute costumes, but many criticized her over the noticeably absent sibling.

In the photo are Kate’s 13-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Hannah, Leah, and Joel. But their brother, Collin, was not in the photo.

“No Collin, of course. That’s sad. He’s been gone for like 3 years now,” one viewer commented.

Others were quick to jump on the reality star over the missing son. In fact, his whereabouts have been shrouded in mystery for awhile.

But as it turns out, there may be a good reason Collin was not pictured trick-or-treating with his brothers and sisters.

Kate Gosselin has gone though many changes since she first appeared on TV in 2005.

After giving birth to twins and undergoing fertility treatments, Kate and her former husband, Jon, welcomed sextuplets in May 2004.

Sons Aaden, Collin, and Joel, and daughters Alexis, Hannah, and Leah were born 10 weeks premature.

It wasn’t long before the family rose to fame with their hit TLC reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Kate’s life was famously documented, alongside Jon and their sets of sextuplets and twins.

In 2009, the couple announced they were separating after 10 years of marriage.

Kate moved forward with the reality show as a single mom, which became Kate Plus 8.

Fast-forward to Halloween 2017, when she shared a new photo of her kids on Twitter.

In the photo, 13-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Hannah, Leah and Joel smile for the camera in their adorable Halloween costumes.

“I had a trick-or-treating date with a couple of cute pink dinosaurs and a few adorable astronauts!” she wrote.

But her fans quickly noticed one of the sextuplets was visibly missing: their brother Collin.

“No Collin, of course,” one commenter wrote. “That’s sad. He’s been gone for like 3 years now.”

Another commenter quipped that the name of the reality show should be changed to “Kate + My 7.”

This isn’t the first time viewers have been upset by Collin’s absence. His whereabouts have been shrouded in mystery.

In a recent episode of Kate Plus 8, she discussed how hard it is to celebrate her sextuplets’ birthday with one of them missing.

Kate has reportedly enrolled Collin in a program, away from home, for behavioral issues.

“Collin has special needs,” Kate told People. “This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him – our entire family has been impacted.”

“We miss him so much, so it’s been hard because there is a huge hole in our family without him here. But it comforts us to know he’s where he needs to be right now, and I can feel good about that.”

Still, many fans are criticizing Collin’s absence while others are showing their support.

Other viewers suggest Collin was there on Halloween, but simply did not want to be photographed.

“It was not even really a choice, it was on the advice of his doctors, and it had to happen,” Kate told Nightline in 2016 about Collin’s program.

“This is the best thing I can do for him right now, and that comforts me.”

Kate has yet to respond to the criticism about her Halloween pic.

Hopefully all of the siblings will be back home together soon.
