Mom Captures The Magic Of Her Son’s Friendship With The Family Dogs

by Laura Caseley
Laura is a writer, illustrator, and artist living in New York City.

Growing up alongside a dog is one of the greatest things in life. You can explore the world together and learn so much from one another, and lets’s face it: you’ll look pretty adorable, too.

That’s how Stasha Becker’s son, Julian, is spending his childhood, with not one but two big, fluffy Newfoundlands named Max and Bruce. And Becker captures their sweet, ever-growing magic through photos she shares on Instagram.

What’s more, the dogs also accompany the Beckers on their many travels, so there’s always something new for the family to explore.

Recently, the Beckers, Max and Bruce included, took a two-month road trip across the United States to see the many sights the country has to offer.

Currently, they’re living in Japan for a few years.

Max and Bruce are pretty giant, but you can tell how loving and gentle they are in each photo, and you can see how much Julian loves them, too.

As for Becker, she uses her photos to capture and share her precious memories of her son’s childhood.

Taking photos of your kids is nothing new, but like many moms, Becker is capturing Julian’s childhood in a beautiful and unique way. It’s a little quieter than the mom who dresses her growing kids as famous paintings, but just as lovely.

Check them out below and let us know which is your favorite!

Stasha Becker’s son, Julian, goes nearly everywhere with his fluffy Newfoundlands (or “Newfies,” as they’re known), Max and Bruce.

The family is big on travel, which is an awesome way to give Julian a great education about the world. And Max and Bruce are there to make all the journeys a little fluffier.

Recently, the Beckers took a two-month road trip across the U.S., soaking up all the sights from the Golden Gate Bridge to Times Square.

Max and Bruce also did some sightseeing of their own, and stayed by Julian’s side as they all explored together.

After the road trip, the Beckers moved to Japan, where they’ll be living for the next few years.

And that’s where the dogs go from being companions to being lifelines.

Moving to the other side of the planet is daunting at any age, and for Julian, Max, and Bruce, it offers them the comfort of home in a new place.

And Julian, thanks to his natural curiosity and love of travel, will be just fine thanks to the support from his furry friends.

After all, it doesn’t matter where you are so long as there’s time for a snuggle…

…and a good book.

And maybe the chance to make some new friends, too.

And thanks to Becker’s photography skills and her knack for capturing the best scenes, we get to peek in on this classic, beautiful friendship, too.

You can see more of Julian’s adventures with Max and Bruce on Becker’s website, as well as on Facebook and Instagram.

And be sure to SHARE this adorable slice of childhood with anyone who looks back fondly on their own adventures!
