The first trailer for Judy is here!

The Judy Garland biopic stars Renée Zellweger, and it focuses on Judy in her final years of life — over 30 years after her life-changing role in The Wizard of Oz. Judy died of an accidental overdose at 47 in 1969.

The trailer shows Judy as she struggles with drug addiction, fights with her management, and juggles motherhood with her career.

Renée is tackling this role after a six-year break from Hollywood. She prepared for the role by truly meditating on the lesser-known aspects of Judy’s life and comparing them to her own personal experiences.

“I approached [the film] really humbly with curiosity and lifelong admiration — awe, really,” Renée told Fox News in June.

“And I just wanted to learn as much as I could and read between the lines because I think that a lot of what we sort of address in the film has gone unaddressed or [has not been addressed].”

She added that the role was “fun” to play, but that she knew she had to be careful with it.

“I wanted to be careful because I, like generations of people, I have loved her a lifetime,” she said.

In the trailer, Renée fully transforms into Judy — colorful outfits and fur and all!

Judy arrives in theaters on September 27. Watch the full trailer in the video to see what all of the fuss is about!
