Three years ago, Jennifer Jensen was a struggling heroin addict.

According to Inside Edition, Jennifer became addicted when she was just 16 years old, and she struggled with it for years.

When she was 21, she faced a judge named Chris Wilton for sentencing.

Judge Wilton could have sent Jennifer to jail for a very long time. Instead, he decided to take a different course of action.

Judge Wilton sent her to jail for just one day and ordered her to appear in court again a week later. When she did, he told her she needed to get treatment after the birth of her son, with whom she was 8 months pregnant.

But Judge Wilton didn’t stop there — he kept up with Jennifer throughout her rehab.

Three years later, she appeared in front of Judge Wilton again for her final court appointment after completing rehabilitation and kicking her addiction.

At that appointment, Jennifer made an unusual request. She asked Judge Wilton to officiate her upcoming wedding.

Even though Judge Wilton says he gives Jennifer all the credit for turning her life around, she knows that his kindness in the courtroom gave her the opportunity she might not have had otherwise.
