Joseph Gordon-Levitt Reflects On ’10 Things I Hate About You’ Turning 21 And His Adorable Youth

by Angela Andaloro

The ’90s gave us a wealth of unforgettable rom-coms. None of them captured the humor of the time and the cynical teen spirit quite like 10 Things I Hate About You.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt couldn’t believe that 21 years had passed when he sat down with Entertainment Tonight.

Joseph was asked if the cast could join other film and TV casts that have reunited virtually in recent weeks. “David Krumholtz [and I] — we’re always in touch,” he said. “One day he was like, ‘Aye Joe, will you come on my Instagram live?’ I was like, ‘Alright dude, sure.’ So, we had a conversation for a while.”

Joseph also mentioned keeping in touch with Larisa Oleynik, who played his love interest, Bianca, in the film.

The two also worked together on 3rd Rock From the Sun. Other members of the iconic cast include Julia Stiles and the late Heath Ledger.

“It was just such a special summer, where all the actors were so young and open-hearted,” Julia said during the film’s 20th anniversary last year. “We were all really good friends.”

Joseph’s career has continued to flourish in the years since. He’s got three movies in the pipeline currently. 7500 is a low-budget art film that was “my greatest challenge as an actor I’ve ever had.” He stars opposite Jamie Foxx in an action film called The Big Easy. Last but not least is Project Power, a courtroom drama written by Aaron Sorkin.

That’s not all. Joseph’s also created a new YouTube series to inspire and showcase creatives, titled Create Together With Me.
