When Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, divorced in 2016, Amber accused Johnny of abusing her throughout their four-year relationship.

She appeared in public with bruises on her face, and she filed a restraining order against the actor.

At the time, Johnny vehemently denied the claims. Now he’s taking things a step further by claiming that Amber is actually the one who abused him.

Amber wrote an op-ed about her experience with domestic violence for the Washington Post in December 2018. The piece never mentions Johnny by name, but he still filed a $50 million defamation suit against her in March.

In court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Johnny claims that Amber used “painted-on bruises” to get her restraining order against him.

“I never abused Ms. Heard or any other woman,” his statement reads.

“She was the perpetrator, and I was the victim.”

Johnny goes on to accuse Amber of committing “innumerable acts of domestic violence against me.” He says that she frequently threw objects at him, including heavy bottles, burning candles, and remote controls. Johnny claims that Amber even severed his fingertip by throwing a vodka bottle at him in 2015, requiring him to have surgery.

In the defamation lawsuit, Johnny also accuses Amber of making up the abuse claims as part of an “elaborate hoax” to advance her own career.

Amber’s lawyers denied the new abuse allegations in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. Watch the video below for more information.
