In fact, the performer you’re about to watch is none other than Johanna Quaas, the world’s oldest active competitive gymnast!
Johanna used to be a sports teacher in Germany before transitioning to training gymnasts for the Olympics, many of whom were selected for the 1964 Summer games!
How amazing is that — at 91 years old, she hasn’t missed a beat!
Johanna does some type of sports activity nearly every day of the week, whether that’s gymnastics or swimming or spending time in a sauna.
Gymnastics are one of the most rigorous, physically demanding sports one can do, but as you’ll see in the video below, Johanna is a natural!
It’s amazing that she’s so powerful!
The video took place in Berlin, Germany, during the International German Gymnast Fest.
Johanna was the oldest competitor in the “senior competition,” with contestants aged 70 and over.
She performed her routine on the parallel bars, and what a routine it was!
The upper body strength she exhibited along with the effortless ease of it all is truly remarkable!
As you’ll see in the video, there’s a casualness to her routine that shows just how much of a seasoned professional Johanna truly is!
