Since Joanna Gaines gave birth three months ago, she’s been busy at home with her newborn, Crew. Last week, the former star of Fixer Upper made her first public appearance since the birth.

She surprised fans by showing up at Reese Witherspoon’s book tour visit at Magnolia Market.

Joanna showed up to introduce Reese to the audience, as well as host Jenna Bush Hager. Reese was in town to promote her new book, Whiskey in a Teacup.

During her speech, Joanna, 40, joked that she had to readjust to the spotlight after being in mom mode for the past several months.

“I had to relearn how to walk in heels because I’ve kind of been hiding under a rock for the last three months,” she joked.

“I kind of have a little bit of a baby fog, so I probably shouldn’t have the mic right now.”

Joanna and Chip welcomed Crew, their fifth child, in June.

Joanna Gaines surprised fans at Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas, by showing up to introduce Reese Witherspoon.

The event was Joanna’s first major public appearance since giving birth to baby Crew in June.

“We are so excited to host this event tonight. If there’s anyone who can get me in a dress and heels, it’s Reese Witherspoon,” Joanna told fans.

Reese was in Waco to promote her new book, Whiskey in a Teacup, along with host Jenna Bush Hager.

Of course, Chip was also there in the audience to cheer Joanna on.

“We love you, Joanna!” he screamed when she took the stage.

“I knew you’d be heckling me,” Joanna laughed in response.

“Love you too, Chip!”

Typical Gaines banter.

After Joanna’s introduction, Reese came onstage, and the two Southern belles shared a hug.

Then Joanna exited the stage, and Reese and Jenna discussed the new book.

Though she didn’t remain onstage, fans were undoubtedly shocked and delighted to see Joanna show up to support Reese.

The event venue, Magnolia Market, is a special place for Chip and Joanna. The couple transformed the grain silos and barn into a sprawling market back in 2015.

They’ve become famous for their impeccable knack for turning properties into gems.

However, the Fixer Upper stars decided to end the series earlier this year to focus on their personal lives.

The decision makes sense — the show required the couple to film 11 months a year, which is a lot with five children at home, including one newborn.

So will we see this charming couple on-screen again anytime soon?

“You just never know,” Joanna told People in April.
