During the show, Kimmel invited him on stage and shocked the Dodgers fan with an emotional surprise. He was given a Dodgers jersey, an autographed baseball, and a special bumper sticker for his truck: “Ask Me About The Stranger I Heroically Pulled Out Of A Burning House.”
Then, Kimmel invited the the Dodgers’ former manager Tommy Lasorda to the stage, where he informed Artiaga that he will throw out the first pitch at a game next season. Suddenly, the humble hero can’t hold back his tears, getting emotional about the whole ordeal. It’s such a sweet and touching moment.
