Finding a job can be a really hard, stressful, and draining experience.
For some, unemployment can feel hopeless. But this man shows that a little bit of dedication can help you get anywhere.
When I see someone on the side of the road holding a sign, I usually think they’re asking for donations to help get out of a hard place. But when Jimmy Trujillo did just that, he was looking for a little more than a donation.
Jimmy’s sign read “hard worker needing job.”
According to CBS Sacramento, Jimmy lost his job when his car broke down a few months ago. Without any other leads, Jimmy would wake up at 6 a.m. to stand at the same intersection with his sign every single day, hoping it would help him find the job he needed.
On Monday, Laura Aguilar posted his picture on social media, hoping it might help. It did.
Jimmy says he got about 200 job offers in the 24 hours after that picture went up, and right now he’s working with a moving company.
Kevin McInerney, Jimmy’s new boss, is happy he took the chance on him. He says Jimmy is an honest worker, which is “rare to come by.” Jimmy is also really excited about his new job. Hopefully, everything works out for both of them.
