Jessica Simpson Celebrates Overcoming Body Issues, Criticism, And Addiction On Her 40th Birthday

by Angela Andaloro

It’s been just over 20 years since Jessica Simpson burst onto the scene. Her sweet church girl demeanor, coupled with out-of-this-world good looks, made her an immediate star.

Fans have watched Jessica transform quite a bit in the last two decades. On July 10, Jessica celebrates her 40th birthday. It’s easy to see the star is at the top of her game.

Jessica has released an impressive seven studio albums in her career. She’s demonstrated incredible range from country music to power ballads and everything in between.

She’s also the head of a verifiable fashion powerhouse. Her fashion brand went from a fun side project to a billion-dollar business in under 15 years.

When she’s not dominating music and fashion, Jessica’s thriving as a wife and mom. She and husband Eric Johnson have been married since 2014. In celebration of their sixth anniversary earlier this week, Eric gifted Jessica an enormous, gorgeous butterfly-shaped natural crystal.

The couple has three beautiful children: 8-year-old Maxwell, 7-year-old Ace, and 1-year-old Birdie. Jessica hardly looks like a mom of three with her amazing after-baby body transformation. She’s lost over 100 pounds since giving birth to Birdie. Being an active mom helps keep her on track in a major way, with Jess getting in 10,000 to 14,000 steps a day. She also admits to hitting the treadmill after snacking off her kids’ plates.

Jessica has also overcome some difficult times. She’s loved and lost, as well as battled prescription pill and alcohol addiction. Though those times were trying, she’s come out the other side so much stronger.

Jessica rang in the big 4-0 with a daring throwback to the fashion of yore. She broke out a 14-year-old pair of True Religion jeans and discovered she could fit in them. “I figured that since I’m in the final hours of my 30’s I’d give them another try, and hello 40, so nice to meet you 🤸🏼‍♀️🙌🏼🥳,” she captioned the photo.
