Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have a lot to be happy about these days. The actress/singer and the baseball star got engaged in March and threw a huge party to celebrate in September.
They are also celebrating their blended family. J.Lo is mom to twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony, while Alex shares his daughters Natasha and Ella with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
J.Lo recently spent a weekend night cuddling with Emme watching movies, and Alex had dinner out with his daughters. The pair have been ultra intentional about building their family together. Jennifer told People that she would be “thrilled” to have a baby with Alex, and said her kids would, too.
“I think they would love to have a brother or sister. They love having [Alex’s daughters] Natasha and Ella in their lives and having two extra bonus sisters.” Then she added, “We really form a beautiful blended family and I think they would all be thrilled.”
When Alex heard the news, he joked, “That’s a lot to unpack.”
This will be J.Lo’s fourth marriage and Alex’s second. While we’re still waiting for all the details, Jennifer says her son will walk her down the aisle.
The couple recently hosted an engagement party and brought all of their children together. They were said to be surrounded by friends and family at the “extravagant” party.
Jennifer’s twins Max and Emme were born on February 22, 2008. J.Lo first met their dad, singer Marc Anthony, in 1998 on the set of The Capeman, but they didn’t become a couple until after Jennifer and Ben Affleck broke up in early 2004. They got married on June 5, 2004.
Jennifer and Alex first met in 2005, when she was still married to Marc Anthony. The two didn’t start dating until February 2017, more than 10 years later. J.Lo has been effusive in her praise of their relationship, and Alex appears to have fit right in with her kids.
Becoming a mother has been a huge moment for Jennifer. She told Today, “They just made my life so much better. I’m forever grateful that … you know, I didn’t have kids until later and so I almost thought that it wasn’t going to happen for me, so I’m very aware that I was blessed with that. It could have been something different. I don’t take it for granted one day.”
The couple has a lot of fun together. They both shared this video of themselves working out with the Dallas Cowboys. In the video, J.Lo talks about her preshow workout regimen, and she says when she doesn’t have shows, she doesn’t do anything.
Jennifer has been acting about as long as she’s been singing, and she’s equally gifted at both. She recently made waves in the film Hustlers, which costars Constance Wu and Julia Stiles. Jennifer and Constance are part of a group of strip club employees who flip the tables on their Wall Street clients.
J.Lo also celebrated turning 50 this year in a big way with a giant party. She posted a photo from the night on her Instagram, saying, “Yesterday was a dream. I have watched your beautiful birthday videos and I must’ve cried 20 times. It was just another great reminder of how thankful I am for all the beauty and love I have in my life.”
In many ways, it’s hard to believe that Jennifer is 50. She is a force to be reckoned with and is constantly bringing new energy and drive to each project she begins. She will next be seen in Marry Me and the TV movie Bye Bye Birdie Live!
Alex Rodriguez has nothing but strong praise for his favorite woman. He told Elite Daily that J.Lo taught him how to be his true self, saying, “I had it backwards. I tried to say the right things, to be manipulative, instead of doing the right things. For so long, I took the approach that it doesn’t matter what they write; I’m just going to go out and be the best baseball player I can be. I didn’t realize that it actually does matter.”
Fans of the powerhouse couple eagerly look forward to their wedding day, which is sure to be a showstopper. Jennifer told Harper’s Bazaar exactly what makes their relationship work: “It’s good, it’s healthy; we communicate well. We understand each other’s lives in a way that most other people couldn’t. We both entered the public eye in our early 20s and overachieved right from the start. And that affects every dynamic in your life, from your family to your work to your relationships. We have a similar makeup.”
