It’s official: Jennifer Lopez is a taken woman once again!

The singer and actress is engaged to retired professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

The happy couple shared the news with a photo of her gigantic engagement ring posted to Instagram.

“She said yes,” the 43-year-old captioned a photo of Jennifer wearing the gorgeous diamond engagement ring while he holds her hand.

According to People, sources say the proposal was a complete surprise and took place during the couple’s romantic getaway in the Bahamas. Despite not expecting it, Jennifer was reportedly “ecstatic.”

This will be the fourth marriage for the Selena star.

She is a mom of twins (son Maximilian and daughter Emme) with her third ex-husband, Marc Anthony. Alex, a former New York Yankee, has two kids of his own from one previous marriage.

It’s been a whirlwind romance for the 49-year-old music icon. She and her now-fiancé began dating at the beginning of 2017. At first, they kept the relationship casual and under wraps. But very quickly, they became unable to stop gushing about their feelings for one another on talk shows and in press interviews.

Sources told Us Weekly way back in October 2017 that Alex was “clearly seriously thinking about marriage” when it came to the relationship.

During their joint cover story for the December 2017 issue of Vanity Fair, it became clear that the two were smitten with one another from the start, when he sent her a silly (and slightly awkward) text from the bathroom on their “uneasy” first date.

“We are very much twins,” he said of their similarities. “We’re both Leos; we’re both from New York; we’re both Latino and about 20 other things.” The singer agreed: “I understand him in a way that I don’t think anyone else could, and he understands me in a way that no one else could ever.”

Congrats to the happy couple!
