Jamie Dornan Admits He Wore A ‘Wee Bag’ While Filming Those Sultry Sex Scenes In ‘Fifty Shades’

If you’ve ever watched any of the Fifty Shades movies, I’m sure you’ve wondered just how they film those intimate sex scenes. In general, actors and actresses aren’t actually sleeping together when they film sex scenes — but they show so much in Fifty Shades that it’s hard not to wonder.

Thankfully, someone much braver than I asked that question — and got quite the answer.

Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote the newest installment in the series, Fifty Shades Freed, which is out in February 2018. A very brave Jimmy asked the question we’ve all wondered: Just how do they film those sultry scenes in bed? And does Jamie wear “any kind of covering” while doing so?

Jamie revealed that he does in fact wear some covering — something he calls “a wee bag.”

Now, Jamie is from Northern Ireland, so by “wee bag” he may have meant something different. But after Jimmy’s audience started cheering, Jamie quickly clarified what he meant.

“That’s an expression that I say from where I’m from… but it doesn’t mean it’s actually wee in size,” Jamie told Jimmy. “I wear quite a big bag.”

The Northern Irish actor also revealed that he suspects his “wee bag” had been used before for another movie, as it had the words “inmate number three” stitched into the inside!

According to the New York Times, Dakota Johnson also wore “kind of a patch that went over her pubic area, and right round her whole body.” So both she and Jamie were technically fully covered while filming those intimate scenes.

James Foley told Cosmopolitan that they shot the sex scenes in a closed set, meaning they had as few people in the room as possible, and Jamie and Dakota often giggled their way through the sultry scenes.
