When 24-year-old support worker Jai McDowall was visibly nervous when he stepped on to the Britain’s Got Talent stage, but realized that if he ever wanted to fulfill his dream of performing in front of an audience, he was going to have to do something that terrified him.

Judges said they could see the Scottish vocalist shaking and trembling on stage, but that his voice remained powerful through his entire performance. They were so impressed by his incredible voice – and his courage to step on stage despite his severe anxiety – that they passed him through to the next round.

Amazingly enough, Jai, who was so terrified in this first audition, went on to win the 5th season of BGT. His story just proves that when you have a dream, nothing is impossible.
