For any of you sweet toothed readers out there, this is one recipe you may want to bookmark for later.
Our DIY Expert Jill Urban shares her simple recipe for an Ice Cream Sandwich Cake, and it’s there’s a cookie crunch layer involved.
Ingredients and supplies:
- 1 bag of Oreo cookies
- Smucker’s Magic Shell Fudge
- Ice cream sandwiches
- Cool Whip
- Waxed paper
- Ziplock bag
- Glass baking dish
First, you line your dish with the wax paper. Those delicious ice cream sandwiches form the base of your cake, so make sure you don’t leave any generous gaps at the bottom. Next, you’re going to pour some Magic Shell in a Ziplock bag with your Oreo cookies and then break it up — that’ll later be used for the crunchy center of your cake. Spread a thick, even layer of Cool Whip over the ice cream sandwich, and your Magic Shell “cookie crunch” gets sprinkled on top.
And because we wouldn’t want to stop at a single layer of ice cream, Jill then instructs to set another close layer of ice cream sandwiches atop the Cool Whip layer. Spread another even layer of Cool Whip on top, and put it in the freezer for four hours. Then, bon appétit!
