Hurricane Harvey struck Houston and surrounding areas hard on August 25, 2017. Many folks were able to evacuate before the bulk of the storm, but not everyone was so lucky.

There are many families whose circumstances prevented them from fleeing to somewhere safer. All they could do was to try and flood-proof their homes as much as possible, then hope and pray for the best.

Many pets and animals have suffered or even lost their lives during the storm and its aftermath. More and more souls need our help by the minute. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to help out, even from far away.

These folks are all heroes in their own ways, whether they’re helping out neighbors literally right in their own backyard, saving tiny displaced animals, or working long, exhausting hours to save as many lives as possible.

There are plenty of different ways to help victims no matter how near or far you are. You can help right now
