It’s that time of year again: as the weather gets colder, people spend time outdoors for hunting season.
But it’s also the time of year when bodies of water freeze over. Animals think the ice is solid enough to support their weight before crossing them. Sometimes it is, but sometimes it isn’t. When the animals get stuck, they should only hope that a human is around to help them!
Luckily, this was the case for one stranded fawn. The poor baby was trapped in a hole in the ice, and only his front legs were keeping him from completely sinking into the freezing water.
The hunters had seen something strange on the ice earlier that day, but they at first chose to ignore it. When they walked past that spot again and realized it was a struggling fawn, they quickly mobilized to help him.
While one filmed the rescue, the other pulled the fawn by the front legs and out of the hole.
Once on shore, the baby tried getting up on his hind legs to run away. However, the ground was still too slippery. The hunter had to pick him up and transport him to a place where he would have surer footing.
Finally, the little one escaped to join his mama!
Please SHARE to congratulate these men on their daring rescue!
