Nurse Is Diagnosed With Breast Cancer, Then 2 Strangers Show Up And Offer To Clean Her Home

When there’s a cancer diagnosis, the one thing we can spend our whole lives taking for granted suddenly becomes the most precious thing in the world: time.

How much of it do we have left?

Sometimes, we find out tragically late, after ignoring certain health cues for years. And certainly, for some forms of cancer, the symptoms can be subtle.

But if that devastating diagnosis ever comes, time suddenly takes on an entirely new significance.

While every moment is worth fighting for, there are certainly some — like those spent with family — that are more valuable than others, like time spent on housecleaning.

That’s the rationale, at least, behind a Philadelphia cleaning company’s decision to offer its services free of charge for women who are fighting cancer.

Some moments are simply bigger than others.

Recognizing that, the company Two Maids and a Mop is offering to visit a patient’s home twice a month for as many as four months. Cleaners sweep, polish, and mop every inch of a home, spending their time to make more of it for others.

Sometimes, it takes the helpful hands of strangers to clear away the little things that distract us — allowing us to focus on what really counts.
