For the homeless population, it can be extremely difficult for them to locate their families. They don’t often have access to technology, nor do they have the means to pay their way home.
This means that they’re unable to communicate in any way with those they love — that’s if they even know where their family is. They’ve often been out of touch for so long that people have moved on and changed their contact location. And, due to their nomadic lifestyle, it’s not like their friends or family can easily reach out to them, either.
So their options are very slim when it comes to regaining any semblance of the life they had before they fell on difficult times.
That was the case for a dad named Perry. His time in prison and on the streets meant that he hadn’t seen his kids in 19 long years.
So he teamed up with Miracle Messages, a service which films videos of homeless people and sends them out in the hopes that a family member will see it and reach back out.
For this man, his hopes came true when his son, Joseph, recorded a message of his own for Perry and agreed to a meeting.
The organization even gave Perry a little makeover right before their emotional reunion, which was nearly two decades in the making!
Miracle Messages recently launched their first major crowdfunding campaign, which is how the organization plans to launch and fund chapters across the world. (You can also start a chapter in your city!)
