Heidi Klum Fires Back At Critics Who Think She’s Too Old To Keep Modeling Lingerie At Age 44

In a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, world-famous supermodel Heidi Klum opened up about the backlash she’s received for continuing to model in her 40s.

The German-born model, who is 44, has a lingerie line called Heidi Klum Intimates. Rather than opting to hire another model for the brand’s ad campaign, Heidi decided to star in it herself. After all, she is a seasoned industry veteran!

Unfortunately, not everyone could understand why Heidi chose to model her own lingerie collection.

“Sometimes people say, ‘You’re 44, you’re turning 45, why are you not giving the baton to someone else?’ But I always think there’s a lot of women my age — 50, 60, 70 — what? Do we have an expiration date? Can we not also still feel sexy? I feel sexy in my skin!” the longtime model explained during her appearance on the February 26, 2018, episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Heidi continued: “And why do we always have to see 20-year-olds or 30-year-olds? Nothing against 20- or 30-year-olds in campaigns, but why cannot an older woman also be in a campaign? So, I’m still doing it!”

On top of modeling for and running her own lingerie line, Heidi is also filming Germany’s Next Top Model and is set to return as a judge on the next season of America’s Got Talent.

Check out the video below to hear Heidi’s previously stated reasons for not wanting her kids to follow in her footsteps, despite it being “trendy” for the daughters of models to take up that career themselves (like Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber).
