Ellen DeGeneres inadvertently tried to play matchmaker for Heidi Klum… and almost set her up with Drake.
If you watch Ellen, you know she loves to play fun games with her guests and get them to open up. Some pretty interesting tidbits of gossip come up as result, but nothing quite as interesting as learning that for just a second, there was a possibility of Heidi Klum hooking up with Drake.
The America’s Got Talent judge appeared on Ellen earlier this year. Ellen played a game of “Would You Rather?” with Heidi, during which she was given a choice between Chris Rock and Drake. She expressed a low-key crush on Drake and picked him. It seemed like a cute little fact, but after the cameras stopped rolling, there was actually some follow-up. It turns out that Drake reached out to Heidi as a result of the clip. On her most recent appearance, she updated the audience about what followed.
It all started with this appearance on Ellen in February.
Heidi was single at the time, and so Ellen put her through a game of “Would You Rather?” with photos of some potential bachelors.
Among them was the Champagne Papi himself, Drake.
Heidi revealed that Drake caught wind of the clip and got her information through a mutual friend. “I don’t remember when it was, and I didn’t have his number; he didn’t have my number. Someone who I know knows him, and I guess he asked to have my number, and then he texted me.”
Heidi revealed that while she was flattered, it was too little, too late: “I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh. This is so weird!’ But I never texted him back, because I found the love of my life.”
The love of her life that she refers to is her current boyfriend, Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz.
“Sorry, Drake! Snooze, you lose! You know what I mean? He was basically a week too late,” she joked.
At least Drake now knows why he didn’t get that text back.
As for Heidi, she also took the opportunity to apologize to Drake.
He might not have gotten the text back, but she still gives him props.
Heidi even dished that she was eager to catch one of his tour dates soon.
Drake is currently in the midst of his “Aubrey and the Three Amigos” tour with Migos.
And good news for the rest of us — Drake’s still single, ladies!
