When I was a kid, there was no hairstyle that I loved more than Shirley Temple’s perfect ringlets!

I used to beg my mom to curl my hair with her curling iron, but she always said that the heat wasn’t good for my hair. Now that I’m a grown-up myself, I have to agree with my mom’s caution, and try to only use heat-free styling techniques, like this awesome sock bun tutorial!

While most heat-free techniques are great for giving your hair lots of volume and plenty of gentle waves—as we saw with the infamous Coca-Cola trick — I never thought I would find a heat-free method for ringlets worthy of the Curly Top star herself!

I always assumed that a curl that perfect and tight would require plenty of heat, which can definitely damage your hair overtime. Fortunately, it turns out that I was totally wrong!

With this simple tutorial from beauty vlogger Keren Liam, it’s actually really easy to achieve bouncy curls at home, and with virtually no special tools. All you need are bobby pins, ordinary drinking straws, and plenty of time.  Check out the video below to see how this stunning look can be achieved!

And if you can’t wait to try out your own variation of the soon-to-be-classic “straw trick,” please SHARE on Facebook for all of your fellow beauty fans!
