Prince Harry and Meghan just made a public appearance in Miami. It was their first paid public appearance since their royal exit.

The event was an investors summit for JP Morgan for which Harry was the keynote speaker. Meghan was reportedly introduced by Gayle King.

The event took place at the luxurious 1 Hotel in South Beach. The couple, who will no longer be using their royal titles since they announced they were stepping back from royal duties, seem to be finding their footing and their independence from royal life. It’s great to see them out and about and finding opportunities that feel right for them.

Harry gave an emotional speech with a focus on mental health. He talked about the pain of losing his mother at a young age and what he went through as a result. He also said he had been in therapy for years to help him cope with such a jarring and devastating loss.

People have been wondering how Meghan and Harry plan to make their way now that they are financially independent of the royal family. We’ve heard all kinds of theories about what they will be doing, from partnerships to potential acting gigs and even the possibility of a fashion career for Meghan. This speaking engagement definitely gives us a glimpse as to what kinds of opportunities they will be saying “yes” to as they start their new lives in Canada.
