I don’t know about you, but dog rescue stories never fail to make me smile.
A video shared on June 14, 2017, introduced the public to Shortcake, who is arguably the happiest rescue dog in the world. According to Shortcake’s owner Amy Matsushima, her dog smiles constantly since being adopted by her forever family.
The happy rescue dog is incredibly popular with the other people in Amy’s life. She has even become the unofficial “mascot” of the creative agency where Amy works!
“She’s very silly, full of sounds and playful when she’s not sleeping but even then she smiles. She really does smile most of the time,” Amy says.
The video Amy has shared is a montage of footage where Shortcake is clearly living her best life. Shortcake happily wags her tail, cuddles with her owner, and even goes swimming in the brief clip.
According to the Daily Mail, Shortcake was found on the streets, where she had been suffering from severe mange and a hernia. She was rescued by Fresno Bully Rescue, who nursed her back to health. Amy drove up to Fresno, California from Los Angeles to meet Shortcake after seeing her photo online, and the rest is history.
There is no doubt that Shortcake is loving her new life! If you want to see more of her happy adventures, you can follow Shortcake on Instagram, where she has over 12,000 followers at last count.
