Pet owners everywhere know the struggles that come with putting up a Christmas tree with ornaments every year, especially if their pets see the tree as some type of threat to their personal space or an opportunity to cause some mischief (we’re lookin’ at you, cats all across the world).

A European company called Argos has created “half” Christmas trees to solve this very problem. The trees are 6 feet tall; however, they look more like mini tabletop trees on a stick. On the company’s website, the description reads: “Keep your perfectly placed baubles, bows and bells out of reach of curious, crawling kids or your cats’ playful paws with this 6ft parasol tree. If Santa’s been extra generous, there’s plenty of room to stack pressies underneath rather than scattering them around it.

It’s also a great alternative to the traditional tree if you’re a tad tight for space. ”

Let’s be honest here: The tree is pretty unconventional. However, I don’t own a cat, nor do I have kids, so I truly don’t know how big of a problem it is for both kids and cats to be around a regular Christmas tree. One customer commented, “Really lovely tree looks smart excited about Xmas very space saving,” though, so there is some potential here.

The tree retails for £33.33 (about $42.50), but unfortunately, the company does not ship overseas.

Here’s to hoping Walmart or Target comes out with something similar, and soon!

Would you buy this half-tree for the sake of your cats and kiddos?
