Gwyneth Paltrow may be busy taking the world by storm, but she’s never too busy to show love to her kids.
The actress and businesswoman has had a busy month. She announced she’s starring in a new Netflix series written by husband Brad Falchuk, The Politician. She also had the premiere of a little record-breaking movie she was in, Avengers: Endgame. She’s pulled it all off while running her empire over at Goop. Now Gwyneth has another milestone to celebrate: Her daughter, Apple, just turned 15.
It’s hard to believe Apple is already 15 years old. It seems like just yesterday Gwyneth was starting the modern trend of unusual baby naming with Apple’s birth.
Now the mom of two is taking to Instagram to celebrate her daughter’s special day. She also took a moment to poke fun at the controversy that erupted around her posting a photo of Apple that the teenager didn’t approve of a few months back.
Gwyneth Paltrow is busy these days. She’s manning her empire at Goop, which continues to grow and thrive.
She’s also working on a new project with husband Brad Falchuk. The Politician, a Netflix series that will also feature Jessica Lange, is slated for release in late September.
She’s also part of the major box office hit Avengers: Endgame. Like the many other stars in the film, she’s been attending premieres and reflecting on the end of an era.
Gwyneth has something else to reflect on: Her daughter, Apple, just celebrated her 15th birthday.
It seems like just yesterday that Gwyneth and ex-husband Chris Martin welcomed their first child together. They also arguably kicked off a trend of unusual baby naming that Hollywood parents still keep alive today.
The couple, who underwent a “conscious uncoupling” in 2014, are also parents to 13-year-old Moses. Living in a house with two teenagers can’t be easy, but Gwyneth’s cool-mom attitude probably helps a lot.
Of course, no mom is so cool that she can’t completely embarrass her teenage daughter. Gwyneth did just that with an Instagram post a few months back.
It all started innocently enough. Gwyneth posted a picture of her and Apple on a ski lift in March.
Apple wasn’t too pleased with her mom doing that. She let her know so in the comments.
Gwyneth tried to reason with her daughter. She pointed out that her face wasn’t even visible due to the goggles she had on in the photo.
Some people came to Apple’s defense, reasoning that she didn’t ask to be a public figure. Others felt she was being very bratty.
Gwyneth avoided the same kind of snafu when it came to posting something for Apple’s 15th birthday. Along with the photo of her daughter, she shared a screenshot verifying that her daughter sent her approved pictures she could use for the birthday post.
Apple seemed to appreciate this approach much more. She showed love and appreciation for her mom in the comments, which were full of well-wishes for the not-so-little girl.
Navigating the teenage years isn’t easy, but Gwyneth seems to be handling it well. As much as moms and daughters can bump heads, at the end of the day, it’s all love.
