Jessica Padgett couldn’t wait to marry Kendall Murphy, the love of her life. She planned their wedding, which was slated to take place on September 29, 2018, to a T.

The bride-to-be had picked out the perfect gown, hired their DJ, and poured over the dinner menu. The day couldn’t have come soon enough.

But everything changed on November 10, 2017. Kendall, a 27-year-old volunteer firefighter, arrived at the scene of a car crash in Daviess County, Indiana. While assisting a victim, Kendall was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver.

Jessica’s world came crashing down.

As time passed, Jessica realized there was something she still wanted, and needed, to do.

So her mom Katrina reached out to a professional photographer named Mandi Knepp with an unexpected request.

Katrina asked Mandi if she would do a photo shoot with Jessica — on the day she and Kendall were supposed to get married.

Though Mandi had never gotten such an emotional work request like this before, she quickly said yes.

In the touching video below, see why people all over the country are finding hope and inspiration in Jessica’s show of strength and the photos that capture her undying love.
