Here at LittleThings, we love birth stories. Whether it’s a human or an animal birth, we think they’re all special. There’s nothing more beautiful than watching a mom see her new baby for the very first time.
For weeks, people all over the world watched in awe as April the giraffe labored — and we were all amazed when she finally gave birth to her sweet little boy. I’m not ashamed to admit that I teared up a little watching the moment she finally set eyes on her son.
Similarly, we were all dumbfounded when this hedgehog gave birth to a tiny, purple baby!
Now, I want to invite you to watch yet another incredible animal birth — this time, it’s a grey seal in the United Kingdom.
At a nature reserve in Lincolnshire, visitors noticed a large grey seal struggling on the sand. It was clear she was in serious pain, but she had a look of determination on her face. A visitor watching the grey seal grabbed her camera and started filming.
Just moments later, a tiny white head emerged from the seal. Seconds later (with some significant effort on Mom’s part), a seal pup shot out and landed gracefully on the sand.
