Shy Singer Steps Onstage To Belt One Last Song, Brings The Whole House To Its Feet

by Grace Eire
Grace plays in a band and is the mother to a black cat named Fitzhugh.

Grace VanderWaal may only be 12 years old, but she’s got a lifetime of talent on her side. She says that she started writing songs when she was bored in her room, but those very tunes have captured the hearts of fans around the world.

When she first auditioned for America’s Got Talent, the judges immediately knew they had a star on their hands. Yet, there was no way that they could have foreseen the full impact she was to have on the public.

Musicians young and old are covering the songs that Grace decided to write when she was just getting creative in her spare time.

When it was time to step up onto the Got Talent stage for her last performance before the final vote, she tried not to think too hard about her quick rise to fame.

All she wanted to do was give a good performance of an original song from her heart, without letting the pressure cloud her concentration.

But when she does step up to the stage, there’s no trace of nerves or worry. Instead, all you can see is pure confidence and heart. There’s no way around it: This young woman is made for music. Her voice is so unique and enchanting, while her songs are so catchy.

When it’s time for the judges to get their final words in before the voting begins, it’s clear that all four of them have a special place for her in their hearts.

Watch below and let us know if you think she deserved to take home the $1 million prize in the finale.
