Goth Comedian Overcome With Emotion After ‘AGT’ Judges Give Him Feedback He Didn’t Predict

Giovanna was born in Rome, Italy and currently resides in South Salem, New York. In her free time, she likes to cook with her children and grandchildren.

It was one of the most pleasantly surprising auditions in years.

Oliver Graves, 32, is not the first comedian to appear on America’s Got Talent, but he might be the first one to do so in full goth attire.

The heavy makeup and outfit were not what you usually expect from someone trying to earn a laugh, but his act was no joke.

“I traded in my car to get my interest rates lowered,” he quipped. “It worked: Women are less interested in me.”

His brilliant performance earned a standing ovation from judge Howie Mandel and most of the audience, and it led to one of the most heart-tugging moments on this season of the show.

“I think you didn’t get the reaction you expected,” observes Simon Cowell.

And he’s right — not in his wildest dreams did Oliver think the entire country would fall in love with him after just a few minutes of performing! The tears started flowing on stage in an earnest display of overwhelming emotion and validation. This talented performer has been struggling for years, but just one episode of this TV program has already changed his life.

“I don’t book a lot of shows,” admitted Oliver through his dramatic makeup. But it’s clear that this talented comic is about to explode in popularity, and the sky is the limit for where his career can go after this AGT audition!
