Veteran Dennis Roady will always have a special place in his heart for other men and women who have served. In honor of Veterans Day, he decided to surprise one of the most honorable men he knows: his friend Danny.

“Once upon a time, a long time ago, I joined the Army with my buddy Danny. We went to basic training in 2001 and 10 years later, when I got out, he stayed in,” says Dennis.

To pay him back for years of service, Dennis followed Danny around for days to convince complete strangers to surprise Danny by paying for all of his purchases. He gave each person his credit card and no matter how small or big the transaction, they would pay for the gas or washing machine, and thank Danny for being a patriot.

Every single time it happens, Danny is completely stunned and speechless. You may not have the money to buy our veterans gifts, but you can still show them you care; this Veterans Day, try greenlighting a veteran — or changing any lightbulb in your home or office to a green bulb to show our military your support.

Many veterans go unseen as they return to civilian life without their uniforms. It’s important to extend our compassion and gratitude to the men and women who have served, even if we can’t identify them in a crowd.

Please SHARE this video to thank veterans everywhere for their service!
