For many homeowners, one of the greatest nightmares is having someone break into their home. They can do damage to your property, and claim some of your belongings as their own.

And if you have kids who are at home, there is always the possibility that someone could get hurt.

Twelve-year-old Taylor Blanton was at home alone, waiting for her mom to come home from work, when she thought someone was trying to break in through her front door. The young girl didn’t panic, and immediately got out of sight, but it’s what she did next that may have saved her life.

She went to her room and called 911, giving a very detailed and accurate description of the perpetrator, who was idling between her house and the neighbor’s, still searching for a way inside.

When she got off the phone, instead of immediately hiding — and while the burglar was still in the yard — Taylor took out her phone. Then, the smart girl started taking video and photos of the stranger. Afterward, she hid inside her closet.

When police arrived to her neighborhood, the burglar was found just a few blocks away from Taylor’s house. And her description, video, and photos helped them identify the man!

If you commend this 12-year-old for her bravery and common sense, please SHARE!
