On November 22, 1986, Jose Martinez was shot outside his restaurant in Manhattan.
The killer fled New York and left the country before police had a chance to arrest him, leaving his family distraught.
Jose’ daughter Joselyn was just nine years old when he was killed. As the years passed, her life became torn apart not only by the killing but by the fact his murderer got away and fled to the Dominican Republic.
Joselyn refused to let the case go cold and vowed to track the shooter down.
In 2012, Joselyn — then 35 years old — launched her own online investigation into her father’s killer. She was able to gain access to the NYPD files on her father’s case. Inside, she found a vital piece of information that led to a breakthrough in her online search.
Joselyn told Barcroft she has finally found peace after bringing the perpetrator to justice…
