Giant Tortoise Loves His Watermelon Chunk So Much, He Tries To Devour The Whole Thing

Ana is an Associate Editor who loves animals and food. A good taco and a snuggle with her dogs is all she needs.

Sometimes the simplest things in life can bring us the most joy.

If that is true for humans then there’s no doubt it is the same for animals. Dogs and cats have favorite toys they can play with for hours.

Many animals have a favorite food that they’d eat all day if they could. That certainly seems to be the case for Noto!

Noto is a 90-something-year-old Aldabra tortoise living at the Palm Beach Zoo, and he loves watermelon. (Not just a little bit; he loves his watermelon a lot!)

As you know from The Tortoise and the Hare, tortoises aren’t exactly the fastest runners. They’re not very fast eaters, either.

But Noto still digs into his giant slab of watermelon (half of a watermelon, to be exact). He moves about as fast he possibly can to try and devour his tasty treat.

Noto’s love of watermelon might be simple, but that is the beauty of it! What other fruits do you think Noto would enjoy? Let us know in the Facebook comments!
