Madeleine McCann was 3 years old when she vanished in 2007. The British girl went missing from her hotel in Portugal during a family vacation.

For the past 13 years, authorities have been desperately trying to find out what happened to Madeleine. The heartbreaking story has continued to sweep the nation and beyond.

In fact, it’s been one of the most heavily reported missing-person cases in modern history — and there have been many theories surrounding her disappearance.

But there has recently been a major break in the case. Authorities have revealed the identity of a German convict as a suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine … and he is reportedly being considered a suspect in the abduction of other children dating back to the 1990s.

“Following the ten-year anniversary, the Met received information about a German man who was known to have been in and around Praia da Luz…” announced London Metropolitan Police’s Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell. “While this male is a suspect, we retain an open mind as to his involvement and this remains a missing person inquiry.”
