Breaking: George Michael Dies Unexpectedly At 53 Years Old

Unfortunate news: British icon George Michael passed away today at just 53 years old. The English singer rose to fame as one half of the duo Wham! but went on to become a major name in the music industry as a solo artist.

The ‘Last Christmas’ singer passed away peacefully at home, according to his publicist.  His death was announced by his publicist, who made a statement tonight, revealing that the star “passed away peacefully at home.”

Details are still emerging and we will be updating this post as we learn more. While nothing further has been released, TMZ has reported that police are not investigating the death as suspicious.

George sold over 100 million albums during his life, making him a music icon. Hits include “Careless Whisper,” “Father Figure,” and “Freedom,” — just to name a few!
