Game shows are quite possibly the most underrated programs on television. From classics like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune to modern-day favorites like Celebrity Family Feud and Beat Shazam, there’s bound to be a game show you’ve watched and said to yourself, “Man, I would LOVE to be on that show; I would totally win!”
However, as all game show enthusiasts know, a host can either make or break a show. After all, they’re entertaining the audience, engaging the contestants, and trying to keep viewers’ attention at home — all at the same time. Thankfully, Fox’s new game show, Spin the Wheel, has a host who can definitely do all three of those things!
Former Parenthood star Dax Shepard is the host of the brand-new game show, which is produced by singer and actor Justin Timberlake.
Dax and Justin actually go way back to Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d days; Dax played an IRS agent who raided Justin’s home because of “$900,000 in back taxes,” which, now looking back at it, is a really messed-up prank. Ashton, what were you thinking?!
Anyway, contestants on Spin the Wheel spin a giant 40-foot wheel that has 48 wedges with various amounts of money on them — a little like Wheel of Fortune. They then answer a series of pop culture questions in hopes of winning over $20 million — aka, where can I apply to be on this show?
Spin the Wheel airs on Fox on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
