No one likes getting pulled over by the cops while driving. It’s often not a pleasant experience for the driver who is about to get a hefty ticket or worse.
Recently, police were the ones who had to suffer through an unpleasant experience when they pulled over a Florida couple for ignoring a stop sign.
WINK News reports that when 22-year-old Michael Clemons and 25-year-old Ariel Machan-Le Quire were pulled over at 3:15 a.m., officers found a bag stuffed with over 40 turtles. The couple explained that they were out trying to collect frogs and snakes from a nearby underpass. Charlotte County officers asked the couple if they had anything else in the car that they should know about.
That’s when Ariel shocked everyone by pulling a 12-inch-long alligator out of her yoga pants. The baby alligator was fine, but it shouldn’t have been in their possession. You’re required to have a permit to “hunt” alligators in the area.
Michael’s father spoke with reporters and said it wasn’t surprising. “He didn’t hurt them at all. He just loves animals and catches them and releases them,” the man explained, laughing.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which regulates these types of animals, came to collect the animals after police discovered them. The animals were later released back into the wild. As for Michael and Ariel, the pair were cited for possession of the animals and violating bag limits for reptiles.
