The average woman will spend $15,000 on makeup in her lifetime. With this one simple hack, we might be able to cut that number in half. This hack is going to save you so much money!

Youtube beauty guru Alexandra shows us how to repair broken makeup with one common household ingredient: rubbing alcohol. That’s right — never throw your broken makeup away again!

After you’ve repaired all of your broken makeup compacts, try these easy beauty hacks that will save you time, now that you’ve saved some money.

Sounds crazy, but it totally works. With 1.5 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and a few hours of drying time, that broken, crumbling compact of makeup will look brand new.

What’s even better is that alcohol doesn’t damage the quality, consistency, or functionality of the makeup.

It works on any kind of powder: foundation, bronzer, eyeshadow, highlighter and any other pressed compacts you have lying around.

Judging by the comments, we know that this technique works. “I literally just got home to a package of Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter… broken. Your video saved it! Thanks so much!” said one commenter.

Simply smooth the broken makeup with your finger. Pour 70% rubbing alcohol onto the compact. Smooth out some more and press the powder down into the compact.

Lastly, wait a few hours and use makeup as you normally would.
