Doctors say breakfast is the most important meal of the day — but what if you just don’t have the time?

I know I don’t. I wake up every day at 6 a.m., and it’s a long commute to work. Just the idea of waking up a half-hour early to squeeze in breakfast instead of slumbering makes me feel exhausted.

There is a simple solution to this problem — and it’s not just boring bowl of cereal. Rather it’s hot, fresh, and homemade French toast that you can cook in a mug, just like these scrambled eggs.

This recipe is so simple, you can make it every morning, even if you’re busy, because it only takes  five minutes — two for prep and three for cooking.

All you need is two mugs, a spoon, and a handful of ingredients:

  • Butter
  • 1 slice of bread
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • A dash of cinnamon

  1. Grease a microwave-safe mug with butter.
  2. Rip up one piece of bread and add the pieces to the greased mug.
  3. In another mug, crack an egg. Mix in the milk and cinnamon. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  4. Pour wet ingredients over bread and mix well.
  5. Microwave for 3 minutes.
  6. Enjoy!
