When you think about animals and firefighters, generally dogs are the first thing to come to mind — particularly dalmatians.
In fact, you probably wouldn’t think twice if a fire engine went zooming by with a pup’s head hanging out the window.
But not many people expect to see firefighters with cats. Yet that’s exactly who’s been hanging around one fire department in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Members of the department were quite surprised to hear mewing from their truck and, upon further investigation, they found three newborn kittens inside!
They believe the babies were delivered in the engine by their mother a few days earlier. But with Mom nowhere in sight, the firefighters set to getting these kitties the love and care they needed.
In the video below, the kittens were bottle-fed by their rescuers in one of the most adorable sights I’ve seen in quite some time.
Thanks to the quick response of these amazing firefighters, the babies will now have a happy and healthy life to look forward to. It just goes to show that these heroes do so much more than the already difficult and dangerous task of putting out fires!
What do you think of these incredible fire department members and what they did for the kittens? Let us know in the comments.
