With Halloween just around the corner, it’s finally time to give some serious though to this year’s costume.

If a spooky ensemble is the thing you’re looking for, this may be just the one for you.

In the video below, a woman transforms her arm into a terrifying reattached limb with a little fake blood and some putty. And even though it isn’t real, watching her thread a needle is enough to make your skin crawl — though the real test will be how your friends react when they see it.

You’ll need some scar wax, good ol’ fake blood, some liquid latex, tissues, and makeup that matches your skin tone.

Of course, you’ll also need your needle and thread — the key to making this a truly chilling costume. (And please be careful not to accidentally prick your real skin while you’re threading your fake wound.)

With a little patience, this one is relatively easy. However. if you’re in need of something just a tad more novice, try these jagged zombie nails or this tutorial for frostbitten fingertips.

May these costume tricks bring you all of the ghastly shock ‘n’ scares you’ve been looking for. Happy haunting!
